Pacha Express Fast Boat

Pacha Express was born from a vision shared by Tom Marek and Ketut Wawan Ode to exceed guest expectations on every level in the highly competitive fast boat business. Many travellers come from far distances to experience Bali, Indonesia, and we work hard every day to make sure all of our guests are ecstatic. We have chosen our staff carefully to make sure we have the most experienced captains, crew, and staff to deliver an adventure that exceeds our claims of being “The Best”.

Pacha Express was built at Bali’s #1 shipyard in Sanur, Bali, with zero budgetary constraints. Every step of the way we che the “best of the best” whether it was our fire suppression system, ventilation, state of the art 4-Stroke motors, or Deep-V hull design. Pacha Express is the only boat in Bali that does not “overload” under ANY circumstance. Tom and Ketut agreed it was time to build a fast boat company focused on safety, quality, and professional service. As fathers ourselves, everyday we watch young children board our boat with their families and we feel it is our responsibility to make sure safety is #1. Your experience on Pacha Express is guaranteed to be professional, friendly, and safe.

We would like for you, your friends, or your family to give us the opportunity to show you what makes the Pacha Express experience different.

Pacha Express was built in 2013 with your safety, comfort, and a friendly experience as our #1 goal. Our deep-V hull design is state of the art, providing a comfortable ride that has proven smooth and prevents sea sickness. All fast boats in Bali claim to be the “fastest, safest, etc”… Pacha Express will deliver this promise to all customers GUARANTEED! There is NOT a faster means of travel on any boat from any location to the Gili Islands & Lombok! Included in your ticket purchase, Pacha Express Transport also provides the transport service from/to any hotel in Amed or Tulamben area. In the event your hotel is not in this area, we can provide land transport from/to any area of Bali for a reasonable price.

Pacha Express is the shortest route on the fastest boat delivering you to the Gili’s from Amed, Bali, in less than an hour depending on weather conditions. Amed lies on the northeast tip of Bali, about three hours drive from the Ngurah Rai International Airport. You can safely factor in about a four hour travel time from the Gili’s to the airport. Many people would prefer to spend less time in a boat to prevent getting seasick.

Padang Bai is a large protected harbor on the east coast of Bali popular for fast boat companies. Due to the large number of fast boats and ferries running out of Pandang Bai it naturally causes traffic jams, delays, and general confusion. Amed, Bali provides for a much closer water transport option from Bali, but in fact your travels from Amed will provide a faster means of transporting to the airport and many other destinations in Bali.

Amed Sea Express

Amed Sea Express offers speed boat transfers between Bali, Lombok and Gili Islands.

Lombok’s most popular tourist destination, the Gili Islands (or just the Gilis) came to the attention of the wider world as a backpacker mecca in the 1980s and 1990s. This is still true to some extent, and the islands are still a fixture on the Banana Pancake Trail. But the times they are a changing, and there is now a rash of glamour options on the islands, especially so on Gili Trawangan. The islands are very relaxed and laid-back, with countless little beachside cafes still playing reggae and serving up questionable “energy” drinks, but also at the other end of the scale, elaborate seafood buffets, fresh salads and good quality western and Asian food. Best of all, there are no cars or motorbikes to disturb the peace.

The Gilis from West to East:
Gili Trawangan
Gili Meno
Gili Air

Gili islands are the most popular tourist destination of Lombok. There you can really relax on the beach, no car or motorbike on the islands, and have a sunset drink with your family and friends. Going to the Gili is only a quick speedboat trip from Bali, leave from your hotel in Bali in the morning, you will arrive in the Gili at mid morning, and still have plenty of time to dive the Gili or enjoy the beach. You will have plenty of choice of hotel on each of the 3 islands, from budget to luxury.

You want to go to another Gili island on a day trip or move there for a couple of days, no problem; you can use the cheap public transportation. You can buy those tickets locally the transportation time is less than 20 minutes.

From Gili to Lombok
To go from the Gilis to Lombok or come back, use the public transport. Lombok is only a couple of kilometer away 10-15 minutes. You will leave or arrive in the harbor of Bangsal. You could also leave or arrive to and from the harbor of Teluk Nara to join Gili Trawangan, but this can be a bit more expensive.

What about the Gili islands
There are increasing numbers of westerners living on the Gilis, and operating businesses ranging from dive companies to resorts. There is a strong environmental focus here as the reefs have been very damaged in the past. While once people came to dive, snorkel and party, a more upmarket tourist is showing up now. It is still all about the beach, there are many more options to wine and dine or hang out and meet new friends. Strictly speaking, the name “Gili Islands” is rather redundant as gili simply means “small island” in Sasak, but the name has stuck and is universally used and understood in Lombok.
